Ambiguity

The different types of ambiguity used within the language of hypnosis are:

Phonological Ambiguity:
These are words which sound the same, and may be written the same or differently, but have different meanings. Eg. hear/here, there/their/they’re

Syntactic Ambiguity: This is when the function of a word is not immediately identifiable. Eg. They are shooting soldiers.
Here, the thoughts which arise might be;
Someone is shooting soldiers.
Or
The soldiers are shooting…
Or
The soldiers do shoot…

Scope Ambiguity: This is when an application cannot be determined by the rest of the sentence. Eg. I want you to hand me a picture of yourself in the nude Betsy.
The question here might be;
…is it to be a picture of Betsy in the nude…
Or
…should Betsy be in the nude when she hands me a picture of herself…or both…

Ambiguity often gets confused with that of transderivational phenomenon.
The primary difference between transderivational phenomenon, and ambiguity is in the specific range of questionable thoughts, and secondly that although ambiguity may lead to some transderivational phenomenon, the other is not the case.

Where transderivational phenomenon could have many, and possibly countless meanings such as that produced by the word “feeling”, ambiguity is more specific, and limits the search process for meaning, providing initially for more than one Deep Structure of meaning.

Linguistic Ambiguity - Only $24.95
Here again is yet another of Milton Erickson's famous techniques, the art of sending your subject on a transderivational search for meaning with a hidden double meanings behind your communication. This technique works incredibly well with any other waking hypnotic trick and is a must for anyone interested in the structure of hypnotic language.

Linguistic Ambiguity (with subliminal track addition) - Only $34.95
You can't miss with the addition of this extra subliminal track; make the learning a part of you so that you learn it so well, that you won't know how not to use it.
